Job Requirements
- Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
- ability to follow strict food safety guidelines
- physical ability to handle large quantities of food
- ability to work effectively in a correctional environment
- background check clearance
- completion of required supplemental questionnaire
- eligibility to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience cooking in large-scale food service settings
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to supervise and train assistants
Job Duties
- Prepares and cooks in accordance with nutritional requirements of California Title 15 and National School Breakfast and Lunch programs
- cooks in large quantities using USDA standardized recipes
- understands and adheres to environmental health regulations for food safety and sanitation
- assists in the serving of food within a correctional facility
- maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment
- directs and trains Food Services Assistants in the preparation and serving of food
- performs other related duties as required
