Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk/hear, push/pull, climb, bend/stoop, crouch/kneel/crawl, taste/smell, balance, twist/reach, carry, grasp with hands, squat, drive and use keyboard
  • Lift/pull up to 50lbs daily
  • Ability to hear alarms, communication equipment, verbal instructions, kitchen machinery and equipment
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language
  • Must be able to work irregular hours, including weekends
  • Ability to work in wet, humid, or hot environments
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations
  • Must follow safety and sanitation regulations
  • Maintain a reliable telephone service

Job Qualifications

  • Experience managing others preferred but not required
  • General knowledge of cooking techniques, meats, and equipment
  • General knowledge of knife handling and safety glove requirement guidelines
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Acts with integrity and professionalism
  • General knowledge of basic computer operations and software
  • Experience in the food service industry is an advantage

Job Duties

  • Support the Jacket Potato General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking activities to ensure all items meet recipe standards, proper temperatures, consistency, and presentation requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations, and verify that team members consistently follow required procedures
  • Proper cash handling and adherence to restaurant financial processes
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, promptly and professionally and advise Jacket Potato General Manager
  • Assist in scheduling, payroll and labor cost management
  • Assist in managing budgets, food costs, labor costs, inventory, and supplies
  • Monitor and report on food costs, wastage, and other expenses related to the menu
  • Assist in developing and testing new recipes, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
  • Maintain and manage related equipment, ensuring they are cleaned, serviced, and in good working conditions
  • Complete necessary health inspections and certifications as required by local regulations such as Food Handler’s (required) and TABC (if applicable)
  • Supports and facilitates organizational changes, continuous improvement and communication
