Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary experience
  • Flexible and able to work long hours
  • Ability to exert medium physical effort lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Ability to withstand hot and cold temperature variations
  • Thorough knowledge of menus and preparation
  • Proficiency in required cooking techniques
  • Knowledge of herbs and spices and proper use

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Culinary experience required
  • Flexible with working long hours
  • Medium physical work capacity
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Ability to withstand temperature variations
  • Knowledge of menu preparation and hotel standards
  • Proficiency in charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sautéing, braising, roasting, and par-cooking
  • Knowledge of herbs and spices and their uses

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas
  • Complete necessary food and station preparation prior to restaurant opening
  • Prepare and display buffet food items according to hotel standards
  • Recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products
  • Maintain clean and sanitary environment with proper food handling and storage
  • Prepare food for banquets following event specifications
  • Prepare and service food for employee cafeteria as directed
  • Follow hotel standard recipes and prepare specials under supervision
  • Breakdown buffets and kitchen lines, properly storing food and equipment
  • Work banquet food stations as scheduled
  • Know operation and location of fire extinguishing equipment
  • Practice safe work habits to avoid injury
  • Use production charts according to hotel standards
  • Support any kitchen position as needed
  • Follow health department and company regulations
  • Operate and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment
  • Maintain a clean as you go policy
  • Assist in storage and rotation of food items
  • Sign keys out and back in as supervised
