Job Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience
  • proficiency in Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • excellent spelling and grammar skills
  • must be literate and fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • literate and fluent in Spanish a plus
  • casino or hospitality experience desired but not required
  • skills partnering with management to creatively source and assess talent
  • conduct and evaluation recruits using behavioral analysis tools provided by the company
  • ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • solid business acumen, oral/written communications skills, and strong attention to detail
  • must possess a valid Nevada Gaming License

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop and lead recruiting process resulting in qualified candidates
  • work with managers on long-term strategic recruitment needs
  • source, recruit, and hire staff for JEI including attracting but limited to properties outside of Reno
  • develop and maintain trusted, professional relationships with team members, especially JEI leaders with hiring needs and team members interested in growth opportunities in the organization
  • identify potential staffing issues and work with management regarding course of action
  • screen applicants utilizing effective and relevant techniques
  • organize follow-up meetings, interviews, and related processes
  • coordinate community and on-site visits with potential candidates
  • provide candidates with information concerning position requirements, casino/hotel attributes, onboarding process, benefits, and community offerings
  • make conditional offers of employment and lead salary negotiations
  • empathize with the candidate experience and strive to improve process or experience
  • build and maintain a pool of passive and active candidates
  • refer internal and external candidates to other positions or divisions, as appropriate
  • track current Team Members pursuing advanced nursing degrees to plan for future growth
  • travel and present to high schools, universities, colleges, and career tech programs to recruit for hard-to-fill positions as well as attend Career Fairs as needed
  • collaborate with JEI Public Relations and Marketing for promotional material
  • monitor trends and implement recruiting campaigns on social media platforms
  • develop and utilize direct-mail campaigns as needed
  • develop, coordinate, and/or present educational components to team members including JEI leadership
  • participate in strategic partnership planning with higher education entities
  • participate and represent JEI on local boards and task-force programs
  • responsible for negotiating and maintaining third-party staffing agency contracts in partnership with the hiring executive
  • coordinate funding and contract agreements with state agencies
  • disseminate New Hire Survey, track response rate, compile results
  • stay current on employment trends and recruiting strategies
