Job Requirements
- Minimum age 21
- Degree in culinary arts, nutrition, home economics, or H-E-B Culinary certification
- 3+ years of related experience
- Experience in professional cooking, sales, or product demonstrations
- H-E-B Wine selling certification or similar experience
- Completion or ability to complete TABC Certification
- Ability to stand for long periods, reach, grasp, sit, walk, bend, squat, climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to occasionally be exposed to cold and hot temperatures, loud noise, and wet conditions
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs safely
- Ability to manage more than 60 lbs by breaking down items or asking for assistance
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Degree in culinary arts, nutrition, home economics, or H-E-B Culinary certification
- 3+ years of experience related to food, cooking, or culinary sales
- Experience cooking in a professional environment or conducting product demonstrations
- H-E-B Wine selling certification or similar experience
- Completion or ability to complete TABC Certification
- Advanced knowledge of H-E-B systems and processes
- Expert customer service skills
- Advanced communication and public speaking skills
- Advanced merchandising skills
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Skills in advanced cooking techniques
- Ability to demonstrate formal or informal leadership

Job Duties
- Lead selling activation events in the Cooking Connection kitchen
- Develop recipes targeted to the local customer base using key focus items
- Engage customers with food experiences and culinary expertise
- Supervise, manage inventory, and train/develop Partners
- Serve as backup to Department Manager and assist with scheduling
- Maintain communication and coordinate Connections selling event activities
- Review sales reports and use KPIs to improve performance
- Manage event order quantities and product displays
- Create and maintain a Customer Experience calendar
- Perform back-up or prep duties when needed
- Follow customer service and hospitality model
- Participate in store events and create themed recipes
- Offer menu advice, scale recipes, and conduct cooking demonstrations
- Provide culinary expertise and recommend ingredient substitutions
- Suggest alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage pairings
- Build relationships by recalling customer preferences
- Execute Connections kitchen merchandising programs
- Maintain plan-o-gram integrity and ensure fixture cleanliness
- Manage inventory and backstock with ownership mentality
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and SOPs
- Complete food safety training and maintain safe work environment
- Use proper PPE and operate under 5-S guidelines
- Prep products using mise-en-place method
