Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience in in-room dining or related hospitality role
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously for several hours
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Availability for flexible scheduling
  • Must adhere to hotel policies and guest confidentiality standards

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Minimum 2 years experience as an In-Room Dining Server or In-Room Dining Coordinator
  • Exceptional people skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with guests, vendors, and management
  • Basic mathematical computation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with other operating departments
  • Professional appearance and behavior
  • Strong problem-solving and judgment abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Active role in safety and security awareness
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Valid driver's license
  • Fluency in a foreign language such as Spanish preferred
  • Previous hospitality industry experience in a similar role
  • CPR certification
  • TIPs and Food Handler certifications
  • Previous supervisory experience

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the resort’s style, practices, culture, terminology, and organizational structure
  • Maintain friendly yet unobtrusive manner with all guests throughout their dining experience
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings
  • Ensure consistent application of Human Resource policies, federal, state, and local laws
  • Promote teamwork and foster a harmonious working climate
  • Understand all food and beverage items offered including ingredients, preparation methods, and proper service
  • Handle and resolve guest complaints or concerns professionally
  • Recognize and address potential intoxicated or disruptive guests
  • Report employee or guest accidents properly
  • Respond appropriately to hotel emergencies or safety situations
  • Perform tasks assigned by the In-Room Dining Manager and hotel management
  • Monitor appearance, attitude, and professionalism to ensure adherence to resort standards
  • Follow payroll and uniform procedures
  • Provide guests with an enjoyable and expertly served dining experience
  • Anticipate and fulfill guest needs
  • Ascertain guest satisfaction and resolve problems by informing management
  • Present menus and specials clearly
  • Utilize hotel computer systems for sales and check processing
  • Complete all duties outlined in the Service and Training Manual
  • Regularly check schedule for arrival times and changes
  • Prepare and transport all supplies needed for in-room dining delivery
  • Ensure the in-room dining area is clean and neat before leaving shifts
  • Arrive on time and report unsafe conditions
  • Maintain guest confidentiality
  • Complete daily tasks and shift responsibilities prior to end of shift
  • Ensure proper handoff communication to incoming management
  • Coordinate internal tasks with the IRD Manager
  • Verify every order with manager on duty
