Job Duties
- Answers telephones and emails
- provides front-desk customer service
- prepares and routes correspondence, memos, forms, reports, and emails
- types and designs documents including charts and business plans
- proofreads documents for accuracy and clarity
- prepares reports and spreadsheets using software programs
- provides public records and information to citizens and departments
- takes minutes at official meetings and transcribes notes
- researches and compiles information for reports and requests
- enters data into computer systems and maintains records
- searches and files documents
- produces hard-copy and electronic reports
- runs errands including bank deposits and mail retrieval
- sorts and processes mail
- drafts responses by phone or email
- processes payments and maintains billing records
- handles confidential information
- provides clerical assistance for projects
- schedules and organizes meetings, travel, and department activities
- performs department-specific duties as assigned
