Job Requirements
- Must be at least sixteen years of age
- must be at least eighteen years of age to drive County vehicle
- valid driver’s license and ability to operate County-owned vehicle if eighteen or older
- good driving record with no recent misdemeanors or felony traffic offenses
- ability to lift fifty pounds
- availability to work a wide range of schedules including evenings and weekends
- must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and driving record review
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of recreation activities and equipment
- understanding of Federal, State and County laws and regulations
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public
- ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
- ability to work independently and under supervision
- ability to read manuals, safety guides and instructions
- strong communication skills
- ability to make simple arithmetical calculations
- skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and internet browsers
- skill in use of janitorial cleaning tools and equipment
Job Duties
- Coordinate event hosting with supervisory staff and community center assistant
- act as a host for birthday parties, weddings and after-hours events
- assist in setup and teardown of events
- answer phones, take registration and handle cash
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of facilities including restrooms and common areas
- perform general administrative tasks in support of recreation programs
- ensure programs run smoothly and guests adhere to event agendas
