Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in International Studies, Communications, or related field
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency meeting DHS Primary Designated School Official criteria
- Proven ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with office technology including word processing and databases
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in International Studies, Communications, or related field from a regionally accredited institution
- Meets Department of Homeland Security requirements for Primary Designated School Officials as a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively in a diverse college community
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with word processing, electronic communications, databases, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Preferred Master's degree in International Studies, Communications, or related field
- Experience working with international students in a college environment
- Experience as a Designated School Official or Primary Designated School Official
- Experience using SEVIS and the Colleague information system
- Collegiate work experience
Job Duties
- Administers the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO)
- Serves as the primary Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) point of contact and manages compliance responsibilities including school recertification filings
- Monitors student compliance with Federal F-1 visa requirements
- Maintains admission packages and tracks progress of international students
- Manages international student documentation and records per Federal requirements
- Updates student information system (Colleague) records for international students
- Serves as content manager for international student webpages and electronic forms
- Corresponds with prospective international students and answers admission questions
- Partners with Student Success, Academic Support Services, and Student Account Services to aid international students
- Conducts international student entry and exit surveys, analyzes trends, and provides improvement recommendations
- Acts as admissions counselor for walk-in students maintaining diverse student caseload
- Exhibits exemplary attendance and punctuality
- Complies with college policies and procedures
- Performs additional duties including attending college functions and serving on committees
- Participates in community and professional events as requested
- Executes tasks according to established standards with minimal supervision
