Job Requirements

  • 4 year degree
  • 3-5 years of international freight forwarding experience

Job Duties

  • Seek opportunities and challenges that maximize profit to PGL while reducing customer supply chain cost
  • cooperate with cross-functional teams to accomplish organizational objectives
  • facilitate day to day shipment activity
  • provide status updates to customers
  • process all shipment and transportation activities for key customer accounts
  • provide instructions to external agents per SOP
  • process quoted shipments with operations specialists and agents
  • handle import shipments from origin pickup to delivery
  • follow up with agents on status of shipments
  • update info and accrue all costs in the operating system
  • adhere to established customer SOP
  • select shipment routes based on nature of goods, transit times, or security needs
  • determine efficient and cost-effective methods for moving goods
  • reserve transportation space
  • arrange delivery or storage of goods
  • arrange special transport of sensitive cargoes
  • assist clients in insurance reimbursements
  • calculate weight, volume, or cost of goods
  • complete shipping documentation
  • consolidate loads to reduce costs
  • inform clients of shipping options and regulations
  • establish and maintain interpersonal relationships
  • document and record information
  • communicate with supervisors, peers, and clients
  • update and use relevant knowledge
  • perform administrative activities
  • process and obtain information
