Job Requirements

  • minimum 2 years customer service experience

Job Qualifications

  • industry experience in freight forwarding or import/export preferred
  • minimum 2 years customer service experience
  • strong oral and written communication skills with business etiquette

  • strong analytical skills with understanding of basic profit & loss statement
  • effective problem-solving skills
  • basic world geography knowledge
  • strong organizational skills including time management, priority setting and multitasking
  • teamwork and ability to work with different cultures

  • proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • multi-lingual a plus

Job Duties

  • anticipate, plan and ensure the most efficient and cost-effective shipment routing based on customer requirements
  • prompt management using operating system (SCAN) to ensure timeliness of moves
  • work in a paperless environment utilizing SISTRS imaging system
  • manage metrics and adhere to KPIs
  • communicate and coordinate with agents, vendors and customers
  • mitigate adverse financial impact of shipment issues
  • understand and set move expectations with agents
  • handle customer issues with urgency and empathy
  • maintain communication with U.S. and overseas agents and vendors
  • coordinate logistics, pricing and move details
  • support coordination with accounts and billing departments
  • manage agent satisfaction and provide customs guidance
  • generate competitive rate quotes for all shipment aspects
  • manage margin, vendor selection, transportation expense and shipment routing
  • evaluate all move aspects for profitability
  • settle invoice exceptions via cost research and negotiation
  • document root causes of exceptions to reduce recurrence
  • follow formal dispute resolution processes
