Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years prior event planning experience
  • ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • proficiency with EMS event software and Microsoft Office
  • familiarity with basic media equipment
  • ability to prioritize tasks and work independently

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • some college experience preferred
  • 1-2 years prior event planning experience
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • ability to lead and direct a team
  • familiarity with EMS event software and Microsoft Office
  • basic knowledge of media equipment

Job Duties

  • Manage internal event facilitation
  • prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • communicate professionally with clients
  • consult with clients to determine event objectives
  • plan scope and format of events
  • assign event spaces efficiently
  • oversee event setup including room assignment, media, meals, signage, security, and transportation
  • provide leadership to event service personnel
  • coordinate with off-campus vendors
  • inspect facilities
  • review vendor invoices
  • maintain detailed event records
  • conduct post-event evaluations
  • audit banquet event orders
  • assist with public events as needed
