Job Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license
- Pass drug screening including hair and urine collection
- Pass background verification
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance, and climb
- Physical agility including lifting, pushing, pulling, and walking
- Able to walk long distances over uneven terrain
- Meet color vision and hearing requirements as per FRA regulations
- Wear protective equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection, and safety-toe boots
- Work nonstandard workweek, overtime, and shift work
- Complete annual training and pass safety exams
- Membership in collective bargaining agreement required
- Pass post-offer medical examination
- May need to provide sensitive information to government agencies if requested
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year experience in a heavy industrial environment preferred
- One year experience operating heavy machinery preferred
- Three years outdoor work experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of hazmat requirements
- Ability to comply with FRA and AAR regulations
Job Duties
- Ascend and descend rail cars
- Inspect and secure trailers, containers, and intermodal flatcars
- Assist lift operators in equipment positioning
- Operate powered IBC carts
- Operate utility tractors and lift machines to move equipment
- Connect, move, and park chassis, trailers, and containers
- Utilize computer systems to manage intermodal car and equipment information
