Job Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED and one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance, climb
- Physical agility to lift, push, pull, and walk
- Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain
- Ability to drive tractor/trailer combination in an industrial setting
- Capable of heavy industrial work
- Meet color vision and hearing requirements
- Demonstrate auditory and visual acuity, tracking, and inspection
- Wear protective equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection, and safety-toe boots
- Work hours may include nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shifts
- Complete annual training and pass safety rules examinations
- Pass background screening
- Pass post-offer medical examination including drug test
- Pass required assessments for position when called upon
- Position governed by collective bargaining agreement
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Experience operating heavy machinery preferred
- Experience in heavy industrial environment preferred
- Three years of outdoor work experience preferred
Job Duties
- Ascend and descend rail cars to inspect and secure trailers, containers, and flatcars
- Assist lift operators with proper positioning of equipment
- Operate powered IBC carts to move interbox connectors and related accessories
- Operate utility tractors and lift machines to move, place and remove equipment
- Connect and disconnect airlines and manually operate chassis landing gear
- Conduct equipment inspections for condition and operational readiness
- Utilize Microsoft Office and terminal computer systems for clerical duties
- Respond to minor hazmat spills and adhere to safety protocols
- Collaborate with team to meet productivity and customer service goals
- Perform airbrake tests and apply end-of-train devices
- Maintain and lubricate securement devices and intermodal equipment
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervision
