Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of culinary experience in line or pastry kitchens
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • California Food Handlers Certification
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to comply with Hyatt’s service standards

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or related hotel experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of line or fine dining experience
  • Proven pastry experience required
  • Ability to perform all basic cooking skills
  • Experience working a high volume pastry station
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently on a single station
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • California Food Handlers Certification required

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of pastries and baked goods while ensuring quality and consistency
  • Manage high volume pastry stations efficiently
  • Perform basic and intermediate cooking tasks as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to coordinate food preparation and timely service
  • Handle kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
