Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of previous line and fine dining experience
  • Pastry experience required
  • Culinary degree or related hotel experience preferred
  • Ability to perform basic cooking skills
  • Able to work at a single kitchen station
  • Experience with high volume pastry production
  • Must be physically able to stand for long periods and walk long distances
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
  • California Food Handlers Certification required

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in high volume pastry stations
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently at a single station
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to lift, push, and pull moderate weights
  • Valid California Food Handlers Certification

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of pastry items including breads, cakes, and desserts
  • Ensure all pastry products meet Hyatt quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to meet production schedules
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations including California Food Handlers Certification
  • Assist in training junior pastry staff
