JAARS is a nonprofit organization committed to providing innovative aviation, technology, and training solutions in support of Bible translation and language development worldwide. Located in Waxhaw, North Carolina, the JAARS Center is a global hub for aviation services specially designed to reach the most remote and difficult locations on earth where Bible translation teams operate. Job Requirements
- Mission field experience using high performance aircraft
- ISJAO line check pilot or chief pilot qualifications and experience
- Commercial pilot license with instrument rating
- Certified flight instructor certificate
- Valid Class II FAA Medical certificate or equivalent
- Airframe and Powerplant License
- Minimum flight time of 1000 hours
- Tailwheel endorsement for fixed wing instructor pilot position
- Availability for overnight travel including two ten-night training events per year in primitive conditions
- Ability to travel over weekends to support Mission at the Airport program
- Support from family, friends, and churches for financial needs as JAARS does not pay a salary

Job Duties
- Develop and prepare course outlines, study materials, and instructional procedures for pilots
- Lecture on aircraft operations, federal aviation regulations, and radio navigation
- Demonstrate aircraft operation and control techniques for normal, STOL, and emergency maneuvers
- Conduct instrument procedure check flights with the Redbird FMX flight simulator
- Observe pilot actions during training flights to ensure compliance with regulations and assimilation of instruction
- Test and evaluate pilot progress through written, performance tests, and oral interviews
- Coordinate initial and recurrent training including budgeting, tracking, and documentation
