Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Food Service Management or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years management experience in the hospitality industry supervising kitchen and/or service staff
  • Minimum 3 years administrative experience in purchasing inventory, food production, and labor management
  • Serve Safe Management Certification
  • Serve Safe Allergen Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Collegiate level teaching experience in Culinary Arts preferred

Job Duties

  • Deliver instruction including culturally responsive practices
  • Conduct assigned classes and labs
  • Prepare lessons and labs and enforce lab safety procedures
  • Evaluate student progress through accurate record-keeping and timely feedback
  • Provide student assistance including office hours, career and academic advice, and referrals to support services
  • Develop curriculum including reviewing textbooks, revising courses and programs, and participating in advisory committees
  • Participate in professional development and maintain currency in specialty fields
  • Engage in departmental routines such as class scheduling, setting goals, assessment activities, committee service, registration procedures, and attending faculty meetings
  • Perform other assigned duties related to the job description
