Job Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Five years of general hands-on culinary and/or pastry experience
  • Multiple years of food service management experience
  • Current ServSafe certification
  • Ability to operate basic computer software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to staying updated with industry trends

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university or equivalent industry experience
  • Five years of hands-on culinary and/or pastry experience as a line employee
  • Multiple years of food service management experience
  • Direct food service management experience
  • Current ServSafe certification
  • Proficiency with basic computer software
  • Knowledge of current trends in the food and beverage industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective teaching and mentoring

Job Duties

  • Teach Culinary or Pastry Arts courses using diverse instructional methods including lecture, technology, demonstration, and practical application
  • Provide students with syllabi that comply with college, department, and program requirements
  • Evaluate student performance effectively while adhering to assessment guidelines
  • Communicate promptly and clearly with students
  • Develop professional relationships with faculty and staff within the department and college
  • Participate in program and division meetings and activities
  • Stay informed of current industry trends and engage with local professional organizations
