Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Experience in discrete trial instruction and behavior management
- Background check clearance
- Preferred degree in psychology, behavior management, or BCBA background
- PMT certification or ability to obtain it
- Availability to work full-time
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Experience with discrete trial instruction (DTI) and behavior management
- Ability to pass a background check
- Preferred degrees in psychology, behavior management/intervention, or BCBA background
- PMT certified or ability to become PMT certified
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of child development principles
Job Duties
- Implement an array of behavior intervention strategies such as discrete trial teaching, social skills development, and de-escalation providing direct behavior support to students
- Prepare materials and equipment needed for curriculum accommodations and modifications consulting with teachers regarding assignments to meet the IEP goals of the student
- Assist in development, implementation, and behavior plans/programs for identified students
- Assist in the development, updates, and review of data collection pertaining to student performance and progress
- Respond and intervene in emergency situations involving assigned students displaying aggressive, self-injurious behavior, or uncontrolled behavior
- Understand basic principles of child development
- Participate in professional development activities necessary for job performance related to specific student needs
- Be punctual and consistent in meeting daily time schedules throughout the school year
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with supervisors, staff, students, and parents cultivating an environment that promotes an ethical culture
- Perform other duties as assigned
