Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Possession of paraprofessional educator licensure
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push or pull up to 35 pounds of force
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods on hard surfaces
- Ability to adapt to temperature changes
- Ability to work in noisy environments
- Physical strength to assist in lifting or carrying students
- Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods
- Willingness to maintain regular attendance and physical presence at work
Job Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Paraprofessional educator licensure
- Teaching certificate preferred
- Teaching experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with students and staff

- Knowledge of basic food safety and kitchen operations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Job Duties
- Executes instructional activities with individual students or small groups of students following teacher direction and demonstration
- Provides assistance to students during special classes such as art and music
- Assists students in special education and general education classes
- Assists in preparation of materials for class, classroom activities, and assignments
- Implements behavior management programs designed by teachers and/or school psychologist
- Counts and records specific student behaviors and administers procedures in the positive behavior support plan (PBIS)
- Monitors student use of instructional equipment
- Provides general maintenance of equipment including cleaning and disinfecting
- Serves as a source of information and help to substitute teachers in the absence of the regular teacher
- Maintains confidentiality and ethical behavior concerning student information
- Assists students boarding and leaving transportation vehicles and accompanies them to and from classrooms
- Assists with supervision during emergency drills
- Helps students with daily living activities such as eating, grooming, bathing, and toileting
- Observes and intervenes to redirect inappropriate behavior
- Assists and guides students to pay attention, participate in activities, and complete tasks
- Prepares, assists, cooks, and serves food for breakfast and lunch programs
- Maintains sanitary work environment including cleaning kitchen surfaces and utensils
- Ensures high standards for food quality and appearance following food safety guidelines
- Operates all kitchen equipment efficiently
- Cleans and inspects kitchen equipment and appliances
- Demonstrates hygiene standards and proper hand washing protocol
- Reports accidents and ensures safety procedures especially fire safety
- Requisitions food supplies and kitchen equipment as needed
- Attends work-related training and workshops as requested
