Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College course work in related field helpful
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
  • Medium work exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Effective verbal and written communication with all levels
  • Ability to listen, understand and clarify concerns
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Maintain regular attendance per hotel standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag

Job Duties

  • Ensure employees are attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees
  • Inspect all rooms assigned to Room Attendants daily to meet standards and productivity
  • Notify Room Attendants of deficiencies and ensure corrections are made
  • Ensure daily assignment records are completed and submitted
  • Maintain key control
  • Supervise Laundry employees when applicable
  • Communicate with Guest Services regarding discrepant rooms
  • Handle lost and found items according to standards
  • Carry active pager or radio for Front Office and Engineering contact
  • Oversee daily work assignments for Room and House Attendants
  • Monitor cleanliness of housekeeping carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways and landings
  • Report on out-of-order room progress to Guest Services Manager
  • Initiate and follow through on maintenance work orders
  • Oversee training of Room Attendants
  • Ensure completion of biannual cleaning and maintenance projects
  • Assist Housekeeping Management with Standard of the Week preparation
  • Monitor VIP guests and special requests
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
