Job Qualifications

  • Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer rank of Lieutenant Colonel (O-5)
  • Military AFSC 8170
  • One year specialized experience at GS-11 or equivalent level
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods for assessment and improvement of unit plans and programs
  • Understanding of military command structure, missions, and organizational relationships
  • Skill in oral and written communication for briefings and reports
  • Knowledge of inspection criteria, deployment and employment processes
  • Ability to analyze, review, and assess unit effectiveness
  • Skill in identifying compliance issues and providing expert technical advice
  • Knowledge of interrelationships of data from units with different missions
  • Ability to plan, organize and direct staff functions of a small to medium sized organization

Job Duties

  • Oversees, plans and executes Unit Effectiveness Inspection program
  • Develops, plans, executes, and controls inspections and exercises to accurately assess unit effectiveness and readiness
  • Leads, trains, manages Wing Inspection Team (WIT)
  • Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to program planning, advanced technologies and support system concepts
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities less than 25 percent of the time (for positions with less than 5 full-time subordinates)
