Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- minimum 2+ years customer service experience in production or manufacturing environment
- understanding of purchase orders, shop floor processes, and logistics
- ability to translate production knowledge into customer support

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technologies, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or other technical-based fields is beneficial but not required
- minimum 2+ years in a customer service role within a production or manufacturing environment required
- must understand purchase orders, shop floor processes, and basic logistics to support customers effectively
- ability to translate production knowledge into customer support
- strong communication skills with experience in customer-facing roles
- some sales background is highly encouraged
- strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems quickly
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- above-average interpersonal skills with strong time management and organizational capabilities
- experience with funnel management and Salesforce.com is a plus (not required)
Job Duties
- Achieves defined sales objectives for assigned accounts
- engages in a team-based selling approach consisting of trust, respect, and open communication amongst field sales, customer service, and production teams
- establishes and maintains partnerships with new and existing customers by effectively applying the highest level of product knowledge related to the appropriate customer application to maximize sales opportunities
- delivers timely solutions to customers' issues by proposing product and service changes or creating procedures for resolution
- works effectively in an intradepartmental environment to ensure transparency of information and cooperation among departments
- achieves measurable customer satisfaction scores by proactively addressing customer issues
- identifies sales opportunities and utilizes a team-based selling approach to meet defined sales goals
- understands and practices strategic and partnership building skills to increase customer satisfaction and trust
- embraces industry practices and utilizes appropriate business tools to drive results
- identifies specific market trends and level of customer knowledge to strengthen partnerships and achieve long-term customer loyalty
- manages all customer issues to facilitate timely issue resolution
- manages administrative duties related to customer portals and ERP data management for customer orders
- responds to customer inquiries relating to pricing, lead time and delivery in support of Marathon Special Products' profitability, sales, and customer satisfaction objectives
