  • Experience working with students and student groups in a university campus recreation program or 2 years related recreation program experience
  • Ability to work with diverse constituencies
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work responsibilities in time-sensitive situations
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to supervise and delegate work to student staff
  • Ability to exercise good judgment
  • Ability to handle different situations with confidence and leadership and be flexible
  • Knowledge of supervising and programming recreation facilities
  • Ability to use PC and Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide direction, training, oversight, and scheduling of student staff for TRECS and HPER
  • Support the implementation, review, and enforcement of facility policies and procedures including facility access, emergency action plans, and standard operating procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director to assess and mitigate current and future risk and ensure compliance with departmental, university, and local standards
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of service and foster a positive work culture
  • Assist in coordinating operational logistics for recreation events, reservations, and special events
  • Direct purchasing and inventory processes for facility supplies, equipment, and materials to ensure timely procurement and budget compliance
  • Plan and schedule one program a month during the fall and spring semesters
  • Input, check and approve student payroll on a bi-weekly basis
