Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with students and student groups in a university campus recreation program or 2 years in related recreation programs
  • Ability to work with diverse constituencies
  • Prioritize multiple work responsibilities in a time-sensitive situation
  • Work with limited supervision
  • Supervise and delegate work to student staff
  • Exercise good judgment
  • Handle different situations with confidence, leadership, and flexibility
  • Knowledge of supervising and programming recreation facilities
  • Ability to use PC and Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong skills in verbal and written communication, customer service, and interpersonal relationships

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to use PC and Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Master's degree preferred
  • One year of professional experience in campus recreation preferred
  • Experience with When-to-Work and InnoSoft Fusion preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide direction, training, oversight, and scheduling of student staff for TRECS and HPER
  • Support the implementation, review, and enforcement of facility policies and procedures including facility access and emergency action plans
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director to assess and mitigate risk and ensure compliance with standards
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations
  • Assist in coordinating operational logistics for recreation events, reservations, and special events
  • Direct purchasing and inventory processes for facility supplies, equipment, and materials
  • Plan and schedule one program a month during fall and spring semesters
  • Input, check, and approve student payroll bi-weekly
