Job Requirements
- high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- eight to ten years related experience and/or training
- minimum 2000 hours as a pilot
- minimum 1000 hours as pilot in command
- minimum 250 hours cross country time
- minimum 250 hours night un-aided
- ability to work with diverse groups of co-workers and customers
- physical ability to meet the demands of the role including lifting up to 50 pounds
- ability to perform preflight and flight duties under varying environmental conditions
- willingness to comply with federal aviation regulations
- maintaining current medical certification
- preferred night vision goggle (NVG) experience
Job Qualifications
- ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and regulations
- ability to write reports, correspondence and manuals
- ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, geometry and trigonometry
- ability to apply mathematical concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions
- ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
- ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
- knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software
- helicopter pilot training
- commercial helicopter training
- individual aircraft training
- FAA commercial helicopter certificate with instrument rating
- FAA class 2 medical certificate
Job Duties
- reporting directly to the chief pilot or lead pilot
- responsible for the safe conduct of flights to which assigned
- has the final authority in the operation of the aircraft
- ensuring compliance with federal, state, local and foreign regulations and company policies
- providing excellent customer service
- complying with schedules and flight directives
- ensuring completion of preflight inspection before each departure
- briefing passengers according to regulatory requirements
- conducting flights in accordance with relevant federal aviation regulations
- checking all applicable notices to airmen (NOTAMs) and weather conditions
- preparing flight plans
- ensuring the aircraft is clean, prepared and airworthy
- reviewing and calculating weight, balance, fuel, oxygen and performance charts
- using checklists and operating procedures
- making decisions to start, delay, cancel, or deviate flights as necessary
- notifying authorities of incidents or unexpected events
- completing all post flight duties including logs and notifications
- refusing transportation if safety risk is posed
- ensuring currency and qualification to operate assigned aircraft
- assisting with cleaning of aircraft and work areas
