Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering or construction management preferred
  • Minimum of five years experience with entitlement processes
  • Must have extensive knowledge of California entitlement and permitting
  • Experience managing design or design teams for ten years preferred
  • Experience working as an applicant's representative at city hearings
  • Ability to work full-time in-office at Baldwin Park, CA
  • Must be able to travel approximately 25% of work time
  • Strong understanding of construction, scheduling, and budgeting
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Knowledge of building codes, ADA, Title 24, and green code requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Five years or more experience with entitlement processes
  • Working knowledge of governmental entitlement processes
  • Extensive experience within California entitlement and permitting including EIRs and Mitigated Negative Declarations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management preferred
  • Ten years experience in design or managing design teams
  • Familiarity with building codes, Title 24, ADA, utilities and green codes
  • Experience with quick service restaurant drive-thru developments preferred
  • Experience representing applicants at city hearings
  • Proven experience working with city planning staff, design review boards, planning commissions and city councils
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Manage the entitlement process from start to finish including due diligence and permit research
  • Prepare and submit entitlement applications and submittals
  • Collaborate with city planners, governmental agencies, and local jurisdictions to secure approvals
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects in various development stages
  • Oversee coordination with engineers, architects, and consultants during design and permitting
  • Assist with negotiations for development agreements, real estate purchases, and leases
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules to ensure timely completion
