Job Requirements
- High school degree and/or a G.E.D certificate
- Six months experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in health care in homes or facilities
- Successful completion of a State approved Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) course
- Completion of a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agencies
- Sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
- Current CPR certificate is recommended
- Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
- Valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Completion of a State-approved Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) course
- Successful completion of a Competency Evaluation per State licensing requirements
- At least six months experience as a CNA in healthcare settings including home care or facilities
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Sympathetic attitude and patient-focused approach
- Current CPR certification recommended
- Valid driver’s license and access to insured transportation
Job Duties
- Assist patients with personal hygiene such as toileting, bathing, mouth, skin and hair care
- Help clients with mobility including ambulation and use of devices like canes, walkers, and wheelchairs
- Prepare meals and assist clients with eating
- Perform light housekeeping and other household chores
- Assist with clinical tasks such as changing ostomy appliances and reinforcing dressings under nurse supervision
- Take vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure
- Support clients with prescribed range of motion exercises and application of external catheters
