Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year experience in freight forwarding or logistics or related field
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding and logistics
  • Understanding of air export regulations
  • Familiarity with banking requirements for international trade
  • Knowledge of hazardous goods shipping regulations
  • Ability to perform basic math for conversions
  • Strong customer service and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding or logistics
  • Working knowledge of air export regulations and Schedule B tariff classification
  • Understanding of banking requirements for international trade
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods shipping regulations and foreign regulations
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials handling
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations related to DOT
  • Basic math skills for metric conversions and currency evaluations
  • Minimum of one year experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or relevant field experience
  • Experience with House bills, Master Bills, invoicing, banking for international trade, and tariff classification preferred
  • CargoWise experience highly preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide and ensure a high level of customer service by developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers' front-line personnel in various divisions and subsidiaries
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to appropriate parties in accordance with transportation laws and regulations
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve issues that could delay freight release or movement
  • Maintain relationships with brokers, service providers, and agents to meet customer service requirements
  • Resolve banking and letter of credit problems
  • Advise customers on payment terms
  • Resolve billing issues and ensure accurate invoicing and vendor payments
  • Enter and correct data in computer files accurately
  • Develop freight rates and provide shipment quotes
  • Generate manual reports to meet customer needs
  • Coordinate customer booking requests and assist with shipment restrictions
  • Complete import and export documentation following international trade regulations
  • Engage with clients regarding billing disputes, shipment status, service improvements, and lane developments
  • Dispatch carriers to pick up shipments at company and customer locations
  • Track and trace shipments including milestones and exceptions
  • Handle hazardous and oversized shipments
  • Work on all iServe cases
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
