Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in trade compliance or similar business disciplines
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely
  • Candidate must reside in the Chicagoland area and work from the office in a hybrid role

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade compliance with focus on import logistics and compliance
  • Current and valid U.S. Customs Broker License or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of U.S. import customs regulations, HTS classification, customs valuation, and OGA requirements
  • Expertise in HTS classification and ability to classify diverse products accurately
  • Demonstrated ability to review and analyze import documents for compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage and prioritize tasks

Job Duties

  • Manage and ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and other relevant government agencies
  • Review, audit, and maintain accurate U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule classifications for imported products
  • Thoroughly review and analyze import documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Prepare financial information and documentation for value reconciliation filings
  • Collaborate with customs brokers to resolve import-related issues and ensure timely clearance of goods
  • Assist in preparing for and participating in internal and external audits and compliance assessments
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of 19 CFR regulations and trade compliance legislation
  • Effectively communicate with internal teams and external partners regarding import logistics and compliance matters
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
