Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 5-7+ years of experience in import/export operations focusing on customs compliance
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs laws and regulations
- Experience with cargo documentation and regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with international trade and tariff codes
- Proven ability to coordinate with brokers and government agencies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Experience with customs compliance programs such as CTPAT
- Proficiency in monitoring and applying trade agreements and tariff classifications
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 5-7+ years of experience in import/export operations with a focus on customs compliance
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations HTS codes and global trade compliance
- CargoWise One experience highly preferred
- Excellent organizational analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Customs documentation and regulatory compliance experience
- Knowledge of IEEPA Sec 301 FTAS Exclusion qualifiers and Sec 232 provisional tariff application including partials for metals
- Tariff classification and duty management skills
- Stakeholder coordination and negotiation capabilities
- Data analysis and reporting proficiency
- Problem-solving under time-sensitive conditions
- Bachelor's degree in international business supply chain logistics or related field preferred
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification preferred
- CTPAT compliance experience preferred
Job Duties
- Oversee all aspects of import operations including customs clearance KPIS and compliance
- Prepare review and submit accurate documentation such as Bills of Lading Commercial Invoices Certificates of Origin and ISF filings
- Ensure adherence to international trade laws customs regulations and company policies
- Coordinate with customs brokers freight forwarders carriers and government agencies to resolve clearance issues
- Monitor tariff classifications duty rates and apply free trade agreements to minimize costs
- Manage compliance programs such as CTPAT and maintain audit-ready records
- Analyze and report customs-related data for internal audits and regulatory reviews
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff on customs procedures and compliance requirements
- Stay updated on changes in global trade regulations and recommend process improvements
