Job Requirements
- 2 plus years of recent experience in the customs industry
- proficiency in Microsoft 365
- previous experience in an air and ocean import environment
- ability to handle confidential information
- strong communication skills
- ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- willingness to cross-train in additional duties
Job Qualifications
- 2 plus years of recent experience in the customs industry
- previous PGA experience
- proficiency in Microsoft 365
- previous experience operating in an air and ocean import environment
- previous AD/CVD experience preferred
Job Duties
- Serve as the customer service liaison between the company and customers
- resolve problems including billing and shipment tracking
- prepare important documents for import customs clearance including bonds, bills, classify/release, and reports
- trace shipments and reroute freight as needed
- communicate and correspond with CBP and PGAs to resolve routine issues
- prepare import documents such as bills of lading, dock receipts, licenses, and consulate documents
- cross-train in additional responsibilities
- handle confidential information
- open files and enter notes and document requests
- review documentation to comply with government and carrier regulations
- convert and verify shipment weight, volume, and foreign currency
- send document requests to employees, suppliers, service providers, and government agencies
- maintain communication with customers, carriers, and vendors
- coordinate shipments from airline, ocean piers, and container freight stations to destinations
- coordinate pick-ups and invoice files
- stay updated on regulations and company requirements
- handle accounting processes accurately and timely
- perform additional duties as assigned
