Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience in customs clearance or import operations
- Proficiency in preparing customs entries and import documentation
- Familiarity with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate
- At least 1 year experience working with a freight forwarder in customs clearance and import operations
- Experienced as an entry writer with knowledge of tariffs and CBP regulations
- Skilled in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Passion for customer service and teamwork
- College degree in logistics, business, transportation, or related field is a plus
- Industry certifications related to customs, logistics, or transportation are a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare and submit all necessary import documents and declarations to U.S. Customs and Border Protection
- Apply current tariff classifications and customs regulations to correctly classify goods
- Arrange and coordinate last-mile delivery by dispatching trucks and managing inland transportation
- Manage customer service responsibilities for assigned inbound international shipments
- Ensure all import documentation complies with client Standard Operating Procedures and customs requirements
- Coordinate effectively with internal departments and external partners to resolve shipment issues
- Handle client requests including billing inquiries and escalate complex issues to management
