Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years of warehouse and/or shipping/receiving experience
- Ability to sit for long periods with frequent interruptions
- Ability to repeatedly get up and down from chairs and reach or bend for several hours per day
- Manual dexterity for typical office work
- Ability to talk, hear, and see sufficiently to complete assigned tasks
- Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 20 pounds
- Ability to use various electronic tools
- Ability to work with others without behavioral extremes
- Ability to travel by automobile and/or airplane for business
- Ability to work in facility operations in temperatures at or below freezing
- Ability to perform reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others
- Ability to respond to constructive feedback from executive management
Job Qualifications
- Three years warehouse and/or shipping/receiving experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer service communication skills sufficient to read and interpret financial and shipping documents
- Demonstrated mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Proficiency in reporting tools such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint sufficient to create communication documents and basic financial reports
- Ability to identify and solve problems in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Demonstrated experience in the food, warehousing, or transportation industry preferred
- Knowledge of USDA regulations and experience working with government agencies and imports
- Knowledge of Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system preferred
- Understanding of conditions of entry and regulations for produce
- Ability to learn and be proficient in Warehouse Management Systems such as JDA and GLS
Job Duties
- Tracks containers in the port system by logging on to the Port Authority tracking system
- Coordinates fumigation with USDA and other agencies by communicating daily inspection needs and providing required documentation
- Tracks cold re-treatment or continuation of cold treatment with USDA and internally, investigates variances, and resolves or reports as necessary
- Coordinates inspections with CBP
- Acts as a liaison with customs brokers to arrange container deliveries and empty container pick-ups, coordinates schedules, resolves discrepancies, and follows up to ensure completion
- Prepares import-export documentation as needed for government agencies, keeps detailed logs of fumigation, CBP inspections, and cold treatments, and creates container documentation for operations and billing
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned
