Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years warehouse and/or shipping/receiving experience
- Ability to sit for long periods with frequent interruptions
- Ability to bend or reach for hours daily
- Manual dexterity for office tasks
- Ability to talk, hear, and see to complete tasks
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Ability to use electronic tools
- Ability to interact effectively with colleagues
- Willingness to travel by automobile or airplane
- Ability to work in freezing temperatures for extended periods
- Ability to perform reasoning, negotiating, and instructing tasks
- Ability to respond to executive feedback
Job Qualifications
- Three years warehouse and/or shipping/receiving experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer service communication skills
- Demonstrated mathematical skills sufficient for shipping documentation
- Proficiency in reporting tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to identify and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Experience preferred in food industry, warehousing or transportation
- Knowledge of USDA regulations and government agency interactions
- Familiarity with ACE system preferred
- Knowledge of produce entry conditions and regulations
- Ability to learn and use Warehouse Management Systems such as JDA and GLS
Job Duties
- Tracks containers in the port system by logging on to the Port Authority tracking system
- Documents vessel delays, 'Full-Out/Empty-In' container tracking, and verifies per diem
- Coordinates fumigation with USDA and other agencies by communicating inspection needs and providing required documentation
- Tracks cold re-treatment or continuation of cold treatment with USDA and investigates variances
- Coordinates inspections with CBP
- Acts as a liaison with customs brokers to arrange container deliveries and empty container pick-ups
- Prepares import-export documentation for government agencies and maintains logs of fumigation, inspections, and treatments
