Job Duties
- Compile and prepare commercial regulatory documents for entry processing
- coordinate and confirm release while operating in compliance with US customs regulations
- coordinate or assist the release of goods from the carrier, customs, or other governmental agency examinations
- respond to incoming communications from internal and external clients and resolve or escalate issues as needed
- communicate and coordinate all customs clearance
- respond to inquiries regarding status of shipments in transit and follow through on trace requests
- supervise the preparation of U.S. Customs entries and follow up with clearance process
- coordinate with independent service commitments to ensure compliant declarations to U.S. Customs and federal agencies
- interface and facilitate partnerships with Customs and other federal agencies at the local level
- monitor import shipments to identify transactions approaching non-compliance
- coordinate timely clearance and delivery of imported cargo
- review and assess accuracy of country of origin, terms of sale, and value to ensure federal compliance
- stay up-to-date on all customs regulation changes
- communicate facts and corrective actions for transactions outside controls to develop improved processes
- oversee and manage professional development and productivity of staff
- coach, train, and mentor direct reports
- perform other duties as assigned
