Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • valid Customs Broker License
  • five to ten years industry experience
  • five plus years supervisory or managerial experience
  • ability to compile and prepare regulatory documents
  • knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations
  • strong client service and communication skills
  • ability to train and manage staff
  • capability to interface with federal agencies
  • proficiency in maintaining accurate records
  • willingness to work on-site as required
  • ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform light lifting
  • computer proficiency required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • bachelor’s degree in international business, transportation, finance, or related discipline preferred
  • valid Customs Broker License
  • five to ten years of industry experience
  • at least five years of supervisory or managerial experience
  • good oral and written communication skills
  • excellent client service skills
  • intermediate computer skills

Job Duties

  • Compile and prepare commercial regulatory documents for entry processing
  • coordinate and confirm release while operating in compliance with US customs regulations
  • coordinate and assist the release of goods from carriers and government agency examinations
  • monitor independent U.S. Customs brokers to ensure proper declarations
  • interface with U.S. Customs and federal agencies to ensure regulatory compliance
  • provide consultation to clients on importation processes and regulations
  • review and distribute import performance and transit time analysis reports
  • provide guidance and training to import staff on documentation and client service
  • establish and oversee recordkeeping standards per U.S. Customs regulations
  • ensure high-level client service from personnel
  • utilize communication skills to motivate staff and liaise with sales and clients
  • manage professional development and productivity of staff
  • conduct bi-yearly performance reviews
  • stay updated on emerging technology and industry innovations
  • maintain data critical to supply chain initiatives
  • perform any duties required for compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection
  • execute other duties as assigned
