Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, transportation, finance or related discipline preferred
- Must possess a valid Customs Broker License
- Five to ten years industry experience
- Over five years supervisory or managerial experience required
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must have excellent client service skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to perform extended periods of sitting, computer use, standing and walking
- Some light lifting
- May require presence on-site at the assigned work location.

Job Duties
- Compile and prepare commercial regulatory documents for entry processing
- Coordinate and confirm release while operating in compliance with US customs regulations
- Coordinate and assist the release of goods from carriers, customs, or other governmental agency examinations
- Monitor independent company designated U.S. Customs brokers to ensure proper declarations are made regarding classification and importation of cargo
- Interface with U.S. Customs and other federal agencies at local and national levels to ensure compliance
- Provide consultation to clients on importing goods, regulations, inspections, transportation, bonding, insurance, and industry expertise
- Review and ensure import performance and transit time analysis reports are distributed appropriately
- Provide guidance and training to import staff on client service, processing and managing import documentation including letters of credit, commercial invoices, certificates, Country of Origin requirements, and communication with clients and vendors
- Establish recordkeeping standards and oversee file maintenance according to U.S. Customs regulations and company policies
- Ensure all personnel provide high-level client service internally and externally
- Utilize superior communication skills to motivate staff, work with sales force, and develop effective relationships with peers, executives, and clients
- Oversee and manage professional development, productivity, and performance goals of staff members
- Conduct bi-yearly performance reviews for all department staff
- Stay current with emerging technological changes and innovations through study and professional development
- Ensure data critical to supply chain initiatives is maintained and updated
- Comply with all responsibilities required for U.S. Customs and Border Protection
- Perform other duties as assigned.
