Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 3 - 5 years' equivalent work experience in logistics, import/export or Foreign Trade Zone operations
  • Knowledge of Foreign Trade Zone regulations under 19 CFR Part 146
  • Understanding of import/export regulations
  • Experience working with freight forwarders and regulatory agencies preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word and comfortable with Customs portal such as ACE, and ERP systems
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams including Distribution, Finance, and Traffic
  • Warehouse/distribution related experience in apparel/hard goods preferred
  • 3+ years warehouse experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Audit import files 5 days prior to shipment arrival by verifying commercial documents to ERP for accurate HTS numbers, country of origin, manufacturer ID, valuation and other key attributes
  • Coordinate with buying agents to obtain missing documents, shipping details, and clarify outstanding issues
  • Work with freight forwarders to file Permits-to-Transfer 5 days in advance when required
  • Submit Fish and Wildlife declarations (Form 3-177) 5 days prior to arrival and coordinate with FWS officers as needed
  • Support Samples department by resolving clearance delays on sample shipments with customs brokers
  • Track and update shipment ETAs in ERP, communicate availability working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and port authorities
  • Work with CBP Cargo Security Officers or Automated Broker Interface (ABI) representative when required
