Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in import coordination
- strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations
- hands-on experience importing food ingredients
- familiarity with HTS classification
- experience with customs brokers and freight forwarders
- high attention to detail
- strong communication skills
- proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
- familiarity with FSVP and food safety documentation
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in import coordination, preferably in food or beverage manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations, CBP requirements, and FDA Prior Notice
- Hands-on experience importing food ingredients or raw materials
- Familiarity with HTS classification, duties, and landed cost calculations
- Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and ingredient suppliers
- High attention to detail
- ability to manage multiple ingredient shipments simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and proven cross-functional collaboration
- Proficiency in Excel, ERP, and Food Safety systems (TraceGains)
- Familiarity with FSVP, organic imports, and allergen documentation
Job Duties
- Handle, process, and store import/export documentation
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Proactively manage delays, temperature issues, or transit disruptions impacting ingredients
- Track and monitor shipment status to keep deliveries on schedule
- Partner with customs brokers for compliant, timely clearance with CBP and FDA
- Resolve issues or delays that arise during the international process
