Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three to five years of relevant import department experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle detailed documentation and billing processes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Capacity to work some weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of CargoWise is advantageous
  • IATA Dangerous Goods certification is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma and or GED
  • Three to five years of experience in an import department of a freight forwarder or customhouse broker
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office and other programs for producing status reports and documents
  • Experience with CargoWise is a plus
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Certificate preferred

Job Duties

  • Break down consolidated freight shipments imported into the US
  • Compile master airway bills and break down consolidations into house airway bills
  • Verify system generated information with actual documents for accuracy
  • Maintain files by entering and updating data, billing, issuing forms and closing files
  • Communicate effectively with overseas offices, agents, customers, and domestic vendors
  • Track shipment movement from origin to destination including arranging release and delivery
  • Handle accounting tasks including printing invoices, amending air freight rates, transferring fees, revising charges, and filing claims for damaged goods
  • Cover some weekend days and company observed holidays
  • Meet key performance indicators for import operations
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
