Job Requirements
- minimum high school diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of import or freight forwarding experience preferred
- knowledge of domestic, LTL, FTL freight
- experience in LCL/FCL ocean import operations
- understanding of refrigerated container handling
- experience with air import operations
- ability to prepare quotations for shipments
- willingness to train as customs entry writer if needed
- familiarity with AMS and customs clearance processes
- experience scheduling and arranging delivery
- understanding of In-Bond moves
- ability to manage daily import shipment operations
- skill in coordinating cargo delivery with truckers
- capability to process ocean import documents and timely ISF filing
- experience arranging customs clearance
- effective communication with overseas agents and factories
- knowledge of vessel arrivals and terminal operations
- ability to clear holds and fees
- auditing skills for brokerage files

Job Qualifications
- minimum high school diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of experience preferred but not required
- must be detail oriented and thorough
- solid knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries, major cities and ocean ports
- basic knowledge of US regulatory laws
- proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
- ability to work well in a team and be flexible
- excellent communication and collaboration skills
- ability to solve issues effectively and address concerns quickly
- ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- maintain courteous and efficient customer relations
- basic knowledge of INCO terms, Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs regulations, and government agency requirements
- basic customs entries knowledge
Job Duties
- process documentation required by US Customs and Border Protection for entry of goods into the US
- provide excellent customer service through clear communication from origin to destination
- manage domestic, LTL, and FTL freight knowledge
- handle LCL/FCL ocean import operations including refrigerated containers
- manage air import operations from start to finish
- prepare quotations for air and ocean shipments
- train as customs entry writer if not yet skilled
- pay terminal charges and confirm AMS information and customs clearance status
- schedule, monitor and arrange delivery to the final consignee
- manage In-Bond move transactions
- oversee daily import shipment operations for freight forwarding and NVOCC
- check cargo availability and arrange shipments delivery with truckers
- process ocean import documents and ensure ISF is filed on time
- arrange custom clearance with customs broker
- communicate daily with factories and overseas agents to assist with bookings and space availability
- track vessel arrivals and manage first and last free days
- secure appointments from terminal websites
- identify and update terminal receiving hours and schedule changes
- clear holds and fees that inhibit container flow
- communicate pertinent information to planning team
- perform audit reviews on brokerage files and customs payments
- maintain customs compliance documentation
- review and monitor customs rejections and requests for information
- adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations
- conduct daily correspondence with overseas and domestic agents, airlines, steamship lines, and co-loaders
- pass background checks
