Job Requirements
- must be able to deal tactfully with staff, residents and visitors
- must be able to follow written instructions
- must maintain care and use of supplies, equipment, and work areas
- must maintain confidentiality of resident information
- must attend required training and education sessions
- must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment and supplies in excess of fifty pounds
- must obtain Food Handlers Card within one month of hire
- subject to exposure to infectious waste and disease
- exposure to heat and cold environments
- stands, bends, lifts and moves throughout the workday
- may work after regular hours, holidays and weekends
- may work different shifts
- exposed to slippery floors and odors
- exposure to cleaning chemicals
Job Qualifications
- no prior experience needed
- must have adequate reading abilities to understand diet cards and special diet menus
- ability to follow written instructions
- good interpersonal skills to interact tactfully with residents, staff, and visitors
- must obtain Food Handlers Card within one month of hire
- basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation preferred
- physical ability to lift, push, and move heavy equipment
Job Duties
- perform dishwashing duties
- clean and sanitize kitchen and dining areas
- assist with occasional food and beverage preparation
- maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and supplies
- follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- handle and dispose of waste safely
- collaborate with team members to ensure a high-quality dining environment
