Job Requirements

  • must hold commercial and instrument helicopter ratings
  • must have first class medical certificate
  • must meet minimum flight hour requirements including total, helicopter, PIC, turbine, night operations, NVG, and instrument hours
  • must comply with company flight personnel weight restriction of 235 lbs or less
  • must reside within one-hour commute of base
  • must be able to pass pre-employment physical exam and drug and background screening
  • must have strong communication and customer service skills
  • must be accepted by PHI management

Job Qualifications

  • commercial helicopter rating
  • instrument helicopter rating
  • first class medical certificate
  • minimum 2,000 total flight hours
  • minimum 1,500 helicopter flight hours
  • minimum 1,000 PIC helicopter flight hours
  • minimum 500 turbine helicopter flight hours
  • minimum 100 hours unaided night operations or 50 hours unaided plus 100 hours night vision goggle (NVG) flight time
  • minimum 75 hours instrument flight time
  • strong communication skills
  • demonstrated internal and external customer service skills
  • ability to pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity and strength assessment
  • ability to pass drug screening and background check
  • acceptance by PHI management and customer

Job Duties

  • fly EC135 helicopter in helicopter air ambulance operations
  • perform line pilot duties in accordance with company policies and CAMTS guidelines
  • participate in 24-hour operations including day and night rotations
  • assist in loading and unloading patients and equipment
  • support safety management system and company safety campaigns
  • participate in community outreach programs
  • provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service to both internal and external customers
