Job Requirements

  • Must have commercial and instrument helicopter ratings
  • valid first class medical
  • meet CAMTS flight hour requirements including total, helicopter, PIC, turbine, night operations, and instruments
  • ability to pass pre-placement physical and functional capacity exam including lifting 100 pounds
  • pass drug and background screening
  • comply with company weight restriction policy
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • interview and acceptance by PHI management
  • must reside within one hour commute of base
  • ability to work 7 on/7 off rotating schedule

Job Qualifications

  • Commercial helicopter rating
  • instrument helicopter rating
  • first class medical certificate
  • minimum 2,000 total flight hours
  • at least 1,500 hours helicopter flight time
  • minimum 1,000 hours as pilot-in-command on helicopters
  • at least 500 hours flying turbine helicopters
  • 100 hours unaided night operations or combination with night vision goggles
  • 75 hours instrument flight time actual and simulated
  • strong communication skills
  • demonstrated internal and external customer service ability
  • ability to pass pre-placement physical and drug screening
  • ability to meet company flight personnel weight restriction

Job Duties

  • Operate helicopter air ambulance flights under CAMTS guidelines
  • fly EC135 aircraft with SPIFR and NVG instrumentation
  • perform line pilot duties in accordance with general operating manual
  • assist in loading and unloading patients and equipment
  • participate in community outreach programs
  • support company safety management systems and campaigns such as Destination Zero
  • provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service to internal and external customers
