Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 6 years hospitality or retail management experience
- Proven track record managing unionized teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
- Experience with budget and financial reporting
- Capability to manage high-volume fast-paced operations
- Leadership and staff development experience
- Knowledge of safety compliance and emergency response procedures
- Physical ability to meet job demands including lifting and prolonged standing
Job Qualifications
- Highly professional patient energetic team-oriented individual with a positive can-do attitude and strong commitment to outstanding customer service
- Minimum 6 years experience in the hospitality industry or customer service with supervisory experience in retail or food service
- Flexible availability including nights weekends and holidays
- Experience managing or working within a unionized workforce
- Proven leadership ability through motivation development and inspiration
- Strong accounting and finance knowledge
- Excellent communication interpersonal and decision-making skills
- Experience handling customer complaints and performing effective guest service recovery

- Proficiency in computer applications including Excel Word Outlook and Salesforce

- Physical capabilities to handle merchandise bulk ice cream containers supply orders and standing for long periods
Job Duties
- Oversee and lead the Burlington Scoop Shop flagship operations including daily operations communications payroll and staffing
- Supervise the Vermont Catering Manager and Assistant Managers including 1:1 conversations growth development and corporate performance plans
- Provide leadership to approximately 50 part-time hourly staff including hiring orientation and onboarding
- Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Ben & Jerry’s and the union representing shop staff including frequent communications monthly meetings and negotiations
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to direct reports and all hourly staff
- Work with Hospitality General Manager to prepare and oversee departmental budgets and financial reporting including profit/loss statements
- Plan and implement store marketing strategies to drive sales growth and increase brand awareness
- Resolve customer and staff operational issues proactively
- Coordinate with corporate retail operations on product launches and messaging enhancements
- Manage staff scheduling ensuring safe and effective coverage
- Partner with retail operations and Scoop University to maintain compliance with corporate guidelines
- Develop and implement training and orientation programs focused on excellent customer service
- Oversee daily hospitality financial operations including cash management, bank procedures, ordering, inventory and sales reporting
- Maintain accuracy of cashing in/out registers and sales reconciliation reports
- Participate in store planning and development meetings as well as company-wide activities
- Manage inventory ordering receiving storage and invoice tracking
- Support safety goals through emergency response management at the flagship location
- Participate in special projects as assigned by Retail Operations and Brand Experience teams
