Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in customer service
- Basic knowledge of HIV and STDs
- Experience using computers and standard software applications
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to work under limited supervision
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- Ability to meet stringent work deadlines
- Willingness to work flexible hours during public health emergencies
- Preferred bilingual skills in Spanish

- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Job Duties
- Enter all incoming disease and treatment reports into the THISIS data base with required accuracy within specified timeframes
- Conduct moderately complex data analysis resulting in necessary public health follow up activities
- Manage Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR), Globalspace, and THISIS systems by processing and disseminating laboratory reactor reports
- Provide extensive technical assistance to local health departments, physicians, and infection control practitioners regarding HIV/STD and AIDS reporting laws and procedures
- Conduct and coordinate healthcare provider visits and training
- Develop, implement, and evaluate systems to improve laboratory reporting efficacy and efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned including administrative assistance, supply ordering, and participation in emergency response efforts
