Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in high-volume upscale restaurant environments preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage reservations and seating efficiently
  • Punctuality and commitment to scheduled shifts
  • Professional appearance and adherence to uniform standards
  • Capable of multitasking and working in a fast-paced setting
  • Basic knowledge of southern cuisine and hospitality traditions preferred

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Prior restaurant experience desired but not required

Job Duties

  • Greet and seat all guests in a hospitable, friendly, and timely manner
  • Handle all incoming telephone calls before the third ring using professional verbiage and positive tone
  • Maintain a clean entrance area, hostess stand, and women’s restroom
  • Manage reservations system including seating within reservation times, quoting accurate wait times, and avoiding over or under-booking
  • Escort guests to assigned tables while engaging in light conversation
  • Interact with all guests and co-workers professionally and friendly
  • Assist in bussing tables when necessary
  • Provide guest right of way and directions within the restaurant
  • Thank departing guests and welcome incoming guests
  • Answer guest questions and address concerns with knowledge of restaurant information
  • Communicate important information to managers on duty
  • Provide information on daily menu additions, musical performances, and cocktail or wine features
  • Ensure punctuality and proper uniform adherence at all times
  • Calculate accurate wait times and offer bar options when waits are extensive
