Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or related industry
  • or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience
  • Previous supervisory responsibility required
  • Proficient in Windows Operating Systems
  • Able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Able to routinely meet deadlines
  • Able to multi task
  • Effective in handling workplace problems including anticipating, preventing and solving
  • Ability to assimilate complex information and adjust as needed
  • Effective listening skills
  • Able to work with financial information and perform basic arithmetic

Job Qualifications

  • Familiarity with employment laws helpful

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and Associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including compliance with dress code
  • Ensure adherence to all Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations
  • Comply with certification requirements including Food Handlers, Alcohol awareness, CPR and First Aid
  • Direct and supervise Human Resources staff
  • Prepare and maintain Human Resources budget
  • Maintain knowledge of all HR laws and ensure property compliance
  • Participate in legal hearings such as EEO, OSHA, ADA, and Workers Compensation
  • Communicate new policies and directives to all staff
  • Instruct and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures
  • Coordinate recruitment, screening and reference checks for non-exempt personnel
  • Recruit, interview and recommend exempt personnel
  • Maintain Associate benefits programs and union relations
  • Set up and maintain wage and salary programs including performance evaluations
  • Assist in creating positive work environment through Associate development and motivation
  • Maintain open door policy
  • Monitor turnover statistics
  • Conduct training classes and update reports timely
  • Participate and monitor safety committee
  • Ensure compliance with HR related Safety SOPs
  • Establish and maintain safety incentive program
  • Become certified trainer in HR modules
  • Practice positive Associate relations including coaching, counseling and discipline
  • Develop and maintain no cost benefit programs
  • Participate and monitor orientation programs
  • Develop managers for future advancement
  • Ensure managers use coaching and discipline effectively
  • Ensure Associate Opinion Survey completion
  • Improve internal communications and record keeping
  • Manage personnel and application files
  • Develop and monitor recruitment resources
  • Attend required meetings and training
  • Perform other management duties as assigned
